Don't Lose out

Sometimes it seems like good days are few and far. I wish I could capture all those moments like I have here; the picture of summer.

I’m a habitual saver. Money, clothes, relationships, etc. I’m constantly putting things away for a rainy day. The problem is it’s constantly raining and I fail to recognize that. That leaves me with lost opportunities and stored up junk.

I’m like the 3rd servant in that parable (Matt 25:14-30). While the first two put their money to work and doubled the value, the 3rd buries it for fear of losing it. It’s a resounding theme in my life.

“They say you don’t know what you have until you’ve lost it. The truth is you do know what you have. You just never thought you’d lose it.”

Lost opportunities. Lost friendships. Left with regrets. Make use of what you have now. Wear that dress you’ve been saving. Reach out to that friend you’ve been putting off. Take that class you’ve been afraid of joining. Even if you lose, your reward above is much greater.
