I had plans to test out some fall recipes but had no idea that instead winter was going to hit Michigan at full speed. So I hope this spiced cider is able to bring you some comfort in this frigid weather.
But isn’t that how it is? You plan things in your life down to the very last detail and then life leads you somewhere unexpected. At times leaving us devastated and broken.
Psalms 84:6 talks about the journey through the Valley of Baca, which is translated as the “valley of weeping.” It’s unclear whether this was an actual place or just a metaphor.
I often joke that I’ve cried enough tears to fill a pool. But God promises that those who live in Him, even as you walk through this valley of tears, you will find refreshment. The very things we’re going through that are difficult, will end up refreshing us.
*Recipe*
- 4 cups of Apple Cider
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 3 Cloves
- The peel on 1 Orange
- 1/4 cup of Brown Sugar
- Fresh Apple Slices (optional)
1. Place the apple cider, cinnamon stick, cloves, orange peel and brown sugar in saucepan and cook over medium low heat for about 15 minutes.
Sip on this while you enjoy some donuts!
