t’s #WorldPhotographyDay and I have a little story to share about this picture right here which is my favorite one I’ve ever taken.

On the 4th of July I made an angel food cake and was so excited to take pictures of it. While I struggled to set up the perfect shot, I noticed my parents watching me. They asked if there was anything they could help with but I dismissed them thinking #ParentsJustDontUnderstand. But they pressed and asked what my vision for the shot was so I begrudgingly answered. By the time I finished telling them, they frantically started looking for things as I looked on puzzled. Mom suggested I insert the sparklers on a potato and place it on a clear Pyrex bowl to give it height and keep it behind the cake to protect it. My dad said he’d light the sparklers so I could take pictures on my makeshift tripod. In the end I got exactly the shot I wanted and one I needed. One that would remind of this story forever. I am filled with so much gratitude.

My parents have always supported my crazy dreams and ideas. All I have to do is mention it and they do all they can to make it into a reality. It makes me wonder how someone could love me this way and how much more my Father in heaven loves me. I’ll never fully be able to comprehend it but it has taught me what love truly is.
