You know when you go to a Mexican restaurant and load up on the free chips and salsa before your food even arrives? What makes it so good? The fact that you’re starving, that the salsa is just that good, or maybe because it’s FREE!

They say the best things in life are free. But are the best things in life really things? What about quality time with loved ones, good conversations, the surety of eternal life through Jesus. Didn’t think I’d be able to tie chips and salsa to the gospel, now did ya? 😉

I’m pretty sure it’s a combination of all things that makes the chips and salsa irresistible. So I have for you a garden fresh salsa which is perfect to bring to a BBQ this summer!

*Recipe*

- 4 medium tomatoes, roughly chopped

- 1/2 an onion, roughly chopped

- 2 green chilis, chopped

- 2 jalapeños, deseeded and chopped

- 1 c cilantro leaves

- 2 cloves of garlic

- 1 t salt

- 1/2 t sugar

- Juice of 1 1/2 lime

- 1 t cumin powder

- **secret ingredient** 1 t chili garlic sauce

1. In a food processor, add your tomatoes, onion, garlic, green chilis, jalapeños, salt, sugar, cumin powder, lime juice, and chili garlic sauce. Pulse until desired consistency.

2. Pour into a glass jar and refrigerate for a few hours. Stays fresh for up to 2 weeks.

Serve with your favorite tortilla chips or layer on top of burritos!
