Sausage, Kale, and White Bean soup

After a very indulgent weekend, I could really use this white bean, kale, and sausage soup to help me get back on track!
*Recipe*
2 T olive oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 bay leaf
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
2 stalks of celery, finely chopped
1 can of white beans
4 cups of chicken broth
4 oz. of italian sausage
2 leaves of kale, destemmed and finely chopped
salt and pepper to taste
In a pot, heat up the olive oil. Once hot, add the onions, bay leaf, garlic, and celery and cook until the onions are translucent.
Drain a can of white beans and add to the pot along with 4 cups of chicken broth. Season with salt and pepper and let it simmer for 10-15 mins. Then add the chopped kale and turn off the heat. The kale will wilt in the hot soup
In a pan, brown your sausage. Drain the sausage and place on a paper towel and then add to your soup.
Garnish with freshly grated parmesan cheese and serve with a side of toasted bread
