Tandoori fish tacos for the weekend? Yes please! Super easy and definitely a crowd pleaser. What are your favorite kinds of tacos?
*Recipe*
Fish:
- 1 1/2 lb. tilapia or any white fish
Marinade:
- 1 c greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 t kashmiri chili powder
- 1 T ginger garlic paste
- 1 t salt
- 1 t garam masala powder
- 1 t dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
- 1 T oil
- juice of half a lime
Sour Cream sauce:
- 1/2 c sour cream
- juice of half a lime
- salt to taste
- 1 t garlic salt
- squirt of sriracha
* Combine all the ingredients for the marinade until mixed well.
* To it add your fish and gently coat and set aside to marinate for about an hour in the fridge
*OPTIONAL* Place your marinated fish on a plate leaving space in the middle for a small steel bowl. Heat up a piece of coal on your gas burner and place in a small steel bowl and place on a plate. Drizzle on top just a bit of oil and when it starts to smoke, cover with a glass lid or with some aluminum foil. Let it sit for 2-3 mins. This will infuse a really nice flavor into your fish. You can completely avoid this step and still end up with some amazing tacos.
* In a pan heat up 1 T of oil. once hot, place the fish on the pan making sure not to crowd them. Cook them covered for 7-8 mins on medium on each side or until the fish is crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside.
* Set up a taco bar with corn tortillas, some sliced red cabbage and radish, fresh pico de gallo, and a tangy sour cream sauce that will send your taste bunds singing.
