Agape. The highest form of love. A joyful resolve to put the welfare of others above our own, modeled by Christ who died for our sins.
We love because he first loved us 1 John 4:19.
Make these baked apple roses for your love. Your parents, children, siblings, partner, niece/nephew, or neighbor.
Happy Valentines day, Friends!
*Recipe* - 6 strips of puff pastry (2 in. wide by 14-16 in long 1/8 in thick) - 2 large apples - 2 T melted butter - 4 T sugar - 1/2 t cinnamon
* Preheat oven to 400° F * Cut your apple in half and then cut into thin slices horizontally. And then cut out the core. Lay them on a plate and microwave for about a minute so they just soften and won’t break when you form your roses. * Cut your puff pastry into strips. * Using a pastry brush, brush on the melted butter on. * Combine your sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Lightly cover the sheet with your cinnamon sugar * Leave an inch off the edges and place the slices with the arch side poking just above the pastry sheet, overlapping the last 1/4 of each slice with the next. Spoon on some more cinnamon sugar. It’s up to your discretion how sweet you want to make these. Fold over the bottom half of the pastry sheet and start folding from one side to the other. Just tight enough so your rose stays intact. * Place each rose in a greased muffin tin and bake for 40 mins or until the puff pastry becomes golden brown. * Take out of the oven and let it cool in the muffin tin until it’s cool enough to handle. And just before you are ready to serve dust with a little powdered sugar.
