Nothing beats homemade cookies. So for the next 5 days, I’ll be sharing my favorite holiday cookies that I’m making for my friends and family. Today’s cookie is a thumbprint strawberry jam cookie with an orange glaze!

*Recipe*

Cookie

- 1 c unsalted butter, room temperature

- 1/2 c powdered sugar

- 1/2 t salt

- 1 t vanilla extract

- 2 1/4 c all-purpose flour

- 1/2 c jam, any flavor

Glaze

- 3 T powdered sugar

- 1 T fresh orange juice

1. Cream together your butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla with a wooden spoon until smooth.

2. Then add the flour and work it into your butter mixture until you are left with a thick dough.

3. Scoop a tablespoon of dough and roll into a ball. Using the bottom of a wooden spoon or your thumb, press into the dough and make a small crater. If the sides crack, just smooth out with your hand.

4. Scoop in half a teaspoon of jam to fill each crater.

5. Bake in a 350 F preheated oven for 15-17 minutes.

6. In a small bowl combine the powdered sugar and orange juice and mix until you are left with a thick glaze.

7. Once the cookies are baked, drizzle on the orange glaze and let it set.
